On understanding that your voice matters

Fellow translators, are you shy when it comes to professional settings, even on the internet? I am.

For the longest time, I've been afraid to comment on LinkedIn posts (although I’m there pretty much every weekday) or to answer questions in translator groups, like Translators 101 and #TeamTranslator.

Why? Because I have a hard time understanding that my voice matters.

There. I said it.

Even after reading so many books and taking so many courses, sometimes I still feel like I don't bring anything to the table.

I'm working on that.

If you're seeing out there more often, it's because I'm trying to fight the imposter syndrome. Thank you to my menthor, William, for encouraging me 🥹.

Also, seeing colleagues show up every week on LinkedIn & other social media definitely helps ☺️
